In recent years, there has been a real upswing in fire and water together. Fire could be fire bowl. It could be a lot of different things, or fire pits. We’ve done some chimneys in fireplaces outdoor spaces. We’ve also done quite a few of these just sort of open, free-standing fire pits where you can circle your chairs around the fire pit and get a fire inside. That’s become really popular in the pool environment, and it’s the combination of evening use, being able to sit around the fire, but also kids are able to play. It just creates another really interesting gathering point.
For me, when I pay attention to how people use things, I want to make sure that they’re maximizing their interaction space and time. There’s plenty of places where people can go and be alone if they want to be alone, but there’s also all of these spaces where they can gather and congregate. When you gather and congregate, that’s when magic happens. That’s when great conversation happens. That’s when people learn and grow with each other. I’m a real fan of that. I think it’s important that we each grow as people continually. By getting people to gather and then talk really helps perpetuate that, and I really appreciate that part of trying to get people to gather. When they do magic happens.
