This backyard oasis was built in a busy subdivision in Oakland Twp. MI. The homeowner just knew Al was their builder after meeting with him. They are pretty analytical but knew that AL just felt right. The yard had quite a slope, which worked out perfectly for the corner fireplace, with added bonus hidden bar area where you can sit and feel like you are in the middle of a peaceful oasis. The large trees were left in the corner of the lot to set the perfect backdrop for the pool environment. The homeowners didn’t originally opt for the turtle but during construction just knew they had to have it. The custom fireplace is built out of many types of stone, and reclaimed windows. The concrete counter top was formed with curved forms to add the right blend of function and aesthetics to the yard. The family enjoys the Moroccan look of their custom requested low voltage lighting, with the amber glass teardrop gemstone fixtures which were hand made by the pool guy to complete the night time lighting.
