Saline, MI Vinyl Gunite Hybrid Pool 2009
Combining the benefits of a gunite pool, with the features of a liner pool proved to be a unique and custom experience for @askthepoolguy Al Curtis. This pool, that does feature a vinyl liner constructed pool as the main pool body, also features a sun shelf, custom seating area with floating concrete countertop, and deep end step in gunite. The sun shelf is accented by a tile waterslide, and sheer descent waterfall.
The homeowners here also do a lot of backyard entertaining around their pool, so an outdoor kitchen with painted mural backdrop and landscape lighting was created. There is also a lower level firepit carved to look like a tree trunk, accented by reclaimed barn wood on one side of the equipment and storage area, as well as an open air tiki bar. The pool was built above the grade of the yard, so the rear fence is a partial retaining wall. The equipment used on this pool is exclusively Pentair – providing a salt generating system in the Intellichlor, a pump, filter, heater and automation.
