Spending time at the Completed Pool

It’s really interesting coming back to a project that we worked so hard on for a number of months this year. This is the first time back since we had a party here. I don’t know, it’s been a month or more, and just in that month the familiarity and commonality and see things often you sort of lose each of the pieces, because you see it all the time. After having not seen it for a month and coming back and witnessing it, it’s a pretty neat experience. What I’m recognizing is the level of the detail in the things that I kind of forgot about. I know I did them, and I know I see them, and I see all the pieces, but when you look at it all the time you don’t really recognize all of it together. How refreshing to come back now.

We’re here to measure the safety cover today, and like most of our projects a safety cover is not easy, it’s a challenge going around all kinds of stuff. Recognizing being in the environment, though, it’s such a great experience. This is a case where the landscaping is currently being put in. It’s not even done yet, and yet it feels really good. I know in the anxiousness of getting it done so that we could have the final party to close it out and all of that, it was hurry, hurry, hurry. I wasn’t enjoying so much of the process. Being able to come back now and just relax into it, measure the cover and then just sit back a little bit, it’s pretty cool to see. I’m kind of surprised that I’m that interested in what it is. Just knowing that I was here for so long, but seeing it now has been really cool.
