✨ Once Upon a Time… a Pool Began to Tell Its Own Story ✨
At Legendary Escapes, our pools don’t just get built — they come alive. We begin with a vision, a sketch, a spark… but once our team steps onto the site and starts blending steel, concrete, and pure artistry, the project starts whispering back. It shapes itself, guiding us toward the magic it wants to become.
This project began with a surprise element for the homeowners and was first known as The Mystery Mine. As the story unfolded, it transformed into The Once Upon a Time Pool — a space inspired by everything whimsical, wonderful, and enchantingly unexpected. This handcrafted, custom-designed pool showcases the creativity and artistry that set Legendary Escapes Pools apart in the world of luxury backyard designs, themed swimming pools, and Michigan custom pool builds.
Perched on the edge of the Coyote Preserve Golf Course in Fenton, Michigan, this fairytale-inspired pool feels touched by magic. At the heart of it all is an enchanted cottage with a slanted slate roof and a swim-in grotto, where the Seven Dwarves make a charming appearance. There’s a swim-up bar, custom in-pool bar stools, an outdoor kitchen, and a dedicated changing room for the ultimate backyard entertainment experience.
A raised spillover spa, a waterslide flowing into the lower pool, and layers of carved-concrete artistry create a one-of-a-kind themed pool environment that feels straight out of a storybook. As evening settles in, the space transforms with custom pool lighting, including antique hat vases glowing with illuminated storybook characters. A cozy firepit and a multi-level patio bring the entire fairytale landscape to life.

Our pools at Legendary Escapes take on a life of their own. We have a general plan to start, and once our team is on site and they are adding the steel/concrete and their artistry into the mix, the pools begin to almost shape themselves – and show our team what needs to be added to make the spaces magical. This one started as the “mystery mine” and has entered the official status of “Once Upon a Time” which has to do with all things wonderful, whimsical, and enchanting.
